Abstract
"The Deep Immersion Virtual Environment Laboratory at SwRI has been promoting to clients the use of virtual environments for training hazardous duties. The research during this effort created a testbed system for producing odor and radiant heat cues for firefighter training virtual environments. From this research came a conceptual strawman of a firefighter training system called the Advanced Virtual Environment Real-Time Fire Trainer (AVERT-FT)."
