Thresh (Dennis Fong) was a famous professional quake player (and one of the first professional gamers). This is his manual for aspiring quakers and includes sections on the importance of sound in Quake I most of which is applicable to Q3A. Advice is given on listening to sounds from your opponent and what they mean (what information they carry) as well as advice on not giving yourself away (how to be stealthy and not make sound). Sounds come not just from player movement but also from actions such as picking up items which always produce a sound. Added by: Mark Grimshaw-Aagaard |
